Kurt Zatloukal, MD, WP5 Co-Leader, is Professor of Pathology (retired) at MUG. Kurt Zatloukal has 325 publications and 28 patents. His research focuses on molecular pathology of diseases as well as Biobanking, digital pathology, molecular diagnostics and high risk pathogens. He is working on development of CEN and ISO standards for medical diagnostics and artificial intelligence. He is involved in the European research infrastructure for highly pathogenic agents (ERINHA) and in several EU programs on pandemic preparedness. He is former Director of the Austrian national node of BBMRI- ERIC (from 2013-2024) and of the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Biospecimen Research and Biobanking Technologies. He is a corresponding member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and member of the Academia Europaea.
